9. Tyrion : Will the boy live?

Location: Winterfell
Characters: Cersie Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Joffrey Baratheon

Tyrion had been up all night in the Winterfell library reading some books. He was not one a much for sleeping.

Outside, he saw his nephew Joffrey with Sandor Clegane - the hound. He had a visor shaped like a black hound to cover his burnt face and has a bit of a temper.
Joffrey and the Hound mocked Tyrion for being a dwarf. On being asked if Joffrey had offered comfort to the Starks, Joffrey responded that Bran means nothing to him and he hates the wailing of women. This shows that Joffrey lacks compassion and empathy. Tyrion slaps him hard for this and Clegane says that the prince will not forget the slap. Will Joffrey hold a grudge against Tyrion?

Tyrion proceeds to breakfast where the Queen, Jaime and the children are also breaking fast.

Cersie looked at Tyrion with distaste. She hates Tyrion since the day he was born.
During all the terrible long years of his childhood, only Jaime had ever shown him the smallest affection or respect.
Tommen was a sweet boy unlike Joffrey. Myrcella had all her mothers beauty and none of her nature.
When Tyrion said that the maester thinks that Bran will live, a glance passed between Jaime and Cersie which Tyrion noticed. Bran had broken his back and legs in the fall and may live but will never walk again. Tyrion believes that his wolf is keeping him alive with its constant howling.
Jaime thinks that Even if the boy lives he will be a cripple. A grotesque. Give me a good clean death.
Tyrion has sensed that there was something fishy with Bran's fall and he is eager to know what the boy would tell when he wakes up.

Tyrion announced that he planned to visit the Wall with Benjen Stark and Jon who are going to the Night's Watch.
What is the relation between the Wall and the Night's Watch?
